When I’m looking to add a new piece to my wardrobe no matter the price, I keep in mind versatility. When I was younger shopping was purely based on price and trend. Curating a closet of staples and classics that I can reach for and know I will be comfortable wearing is a work in progress for me, but well worth it.

This black jumpsuit is a perfect example of a closet classic. It is loosely structured and made from a comfortable fabric. I found this one for a great price, plus I knew I could wear it multiple ways and for various events. I've had it in my closet for a couple years already.

I've worn this jumpsuit with a pair of heels and a few accessories to dress it up for a night out. I took these outfit photos last year when I first bought this Jumpsuit to wear out to a few events for a sleek look.

Recently, I wore it for a brunch date with one of my girlfriends. I cuffed the legs of this jumpsuit, threw on a denim jacket (another classic) and paired it with some espadrilles. It was a quick comfortable outfit with a laid back feel without sacrificing style.

Having something simple like this that you can dress up or down with heels, flats and other accessories is the epitome of pieces I try to have in my closet. A closet full of trendy things that you can only wear for a few months or only to one event is an empty closet in my eyes.

What are some classics pieces in your wardrobe?

Huge thanks to: Jessica Whitehead for the photography of the Jumpsuit & heels outfit and one of my best friends Melody for capturing the casual look.
